Ventura Fest Award-Winning Cinema in The Central Coast

The Ventura Film Festival proudly holds the distinction of being "the grandest film festival ever to take place in Ventura County." The Ventura Film Festival functions as an open genre international film festival that raises awareness for conservation issues such as forest and ocean preservation and restoration, through a yearly film festival and related events. The organization employs the medium of movies to stimulate involvement and create meaningful dialogue around these urgent ecological issues.

The Ventura Film Festival was founded in 2004 and has exhibited numerous cinematic works, usually over 200 films each summer, and has drawn recognition from the worldwide filmmaking community. Since its founding, the festival has developed into an important cultural gathering that connects movie directors, ecological activists, and attendees from diverse international locations.

Significant highlights have been welcoming acclaimed filmmaker Dylan O'Neil, the pioneering world champion surfers Peter "PT" Townend together with Ian website Cairns, 4 time world champion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/MMA fighter the celebrated Fabio Leopoldo, and the 50th Anniversary tribute to West Side Story, which encompassed presenting the entire award-winning cast of West Side Story, including Academy Award winner/Golden Globe winner George Chakiris together with Golden Globe winner/Academy Award nominated Russ Tamblyn. These exceptional personalities and celebrations have confirmed the festival's position as a top-tier venue for celebrating cinema and the professionals who develop it.

The Ventura Film Festival founder and executive director was honored to take part, alongside numerous Hollywood elite, in the 50th Anniversary of West Side Story and Hollywood's famous footprint/handprint ceremony recognizing Oscar winners Rita Moreno, George Chakiris, and legendary actor Golden Globe champion Russ Tamblyn at the legendary Chinese Theater in Hollywood. This occasion also served as the official BluRay launch by Fox and MGM of the timeless West Side Story, which is widely considered by critics and fans to be the best musical of all time. This distinguished honor and involvement highlights the festival's significant influence and distinguished reputation within the film industry.
